7 Days of Prayer

September 13 @ 6:00 am - September 19 @ 11:00 pm

7 Days of Prayer Guide

A focused week of seeking God

Each day includes a clear theme, key Scriptures, focused prayer points, and a short reflection prompt. Aim for at least 20–40 minutes of focused prayer daily. You may also fast one meal or set aside extra time if desired.

Day 1 – Repentance & Cleansing

Focus: Removing anything that hinders prayer and restoring a clean heart before God.

Key Scriptures: Psalm 51 · 1 John 1:9 · James 4:8–10 · Isaiah 59:1–2

Prayer Points:

  • Confess personal sins (known and unknown) specifically and thoroughly.
  • Ask the Holy Spirit to search your heart and reveal hidden attitudes, bitterness, pride, or compromise.
  • Repent of any ways you have hindered your own prayers or the prayers of others.
  • Pray for a fresh hatred of sin and a deeper love for holiness.
  • Ask God to cleanse and restore joy in your relationship with Him.

Reflection: “Is there any unconfessed sin or unresolved offense that could be blocking my prayers?”

Day 2 – Seeking God’s Presence

Focus: Desiring God Himself more than His gifts or answers.

Key Scriptures: Psalm 27:4, 8 · Psalm 42:1–2 · Matthew 6:33 · Exodus 33:15–16

Prayer Points:

  • Express your longing to know God more deeply.
  • Ask for a greater hunger for His presence and Word.
  • Pray that distraction, busyness, and lesser loves would lose their grip.
  • Invite the Holy Spirit to fill and lead you throughout the day.
  • Thank God that He desires relationship with you.

Reflection: “Am I seeking God’s hand more than His face?”

Day 3 – Family & Relationships

Focus: Strengthening marriages, parenting, and key relationships in love and honor.

Key Scriptures: Ephesians 5:22–33 · Ephesians 6:1–4 · 1 Peter 3:7 · Colossians 3:12–14

Prayer Points:

  • Pray for your marriage (or future marriage) — unity, love, forgiveness, and spiritual leadership.
  • Intercede for your children or future children — salvation, protection, and growth in Christ.
  • Pray for parents, siblings, and extended family.
  • Ask God to heal strained or broken relationships.
  • Pray that your home would be a place of peace, truth, and hospitality.

Reflection: “How can I more intentionally honor and love those closest to me this week?”

Day 4 – The Local Church

Focus: The health, purity, unity, and spiritual vitality of your church family.

Key Scriptures: Ephesians 4:1–6, 11–16 · Acts 2:42–47 · 1 Corinthians 12 · Hebrews 10:24–25

Prayer Points:

  • Pray for unity and genuine love among the people.
  • Intercede for the purity and holiness of the church.
  • Ask God to protect the church from division, gossip, and compromise.
  • Pray that the church would be effective in discipleship, care for the needy, and bold witness.
  • Ask the Lord to deepen commitment and spiritual maturity across the body.

Reflection: “How is my life currently helping or hindering the health of my church?”

Day 5 – The Lost & Mission

Focus: Those who do not yet know Christ and the advance of the gospel.

Key Scriptures: Matthew 28:18–20 · Romans 10:1, 13–15 · 2 Peter 3:9 · Acts 1:8

Prayer Points:

  • Pray by name for specific unbelieving family members, friends, coworkers, and neighbors.
  • Ask God to open blind eyes and soften hard hearts.
  • Pray for boldness and opportunities to share the gospel.
  • Intercede for missionaries and gospel workers you know.
  • Ask the Lord to send more laborers into the harvest.

Reflection: “Who is one person I will intentionally pray for and reach out to this week?”

Day 6 – Leadership & Authority

Focus: Those in positions of spiritual, governmental, and everyday authority.

Key Scriptures: 1 Timothy 2:1–4 · Romans 13:1–2 · Hebrews 13:17 · Proverbs 21:1

Prayer Points:

  • Pray for your pastors, elders, and church leaders — wisdom, protection, purity, endurance, and anointing.
  • Intercede for national, state, and local government leaders — that they would govern with justice and wisdom.
  • Pray for employers, supervisors, teachers, and others in authority over you.
  • Ask God to raise up godly leaders and remove corrupt influence where needed.
  • Pray that those in authority would encounter the truth of the gospel.
  • Ask for a spirit of honor and intercession (rather than criticism) in your own heart toward leaders.

Reflection: “Am I more quick to criticize leaders or to pray for them?”

Day 7 – Thanksgiving & Commitment

Focus: Gratitude for who God is and a renewed commitment to walk with Him.

Key Scriptures: Psalm 100 · 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 · Psalm 103 · Romans 12:1–2

Prayer Points:

  • Thank God specifically for answers and insights from the past six days.
  • Praise Him for His character (faithfulness, holiness, love, power, mercy).
  • Offer yourself afresh to the Lord as a living sacrifice.
  • Ask for grace to continue in prayer and obedience beyond this week.
  • Commit any remaining burdens into His hands with thanksgiving.

Reflection: “What is one specific way I will continue seeking God after these seven days?”

May the Lord meet you in a powerful way as you seek Him this week.
