7 Days of Prayer Guide
A focused week of seeking God
Each day includes a clear theme, key Scriptures, focused prayer points, and a short reflection prompt. Aim for at least 20–40 minutes of focused prayer daily. You may also fast one meal or set aside extra time if desired.
Day 1 – Repentance & Cleansing
Focus: Removing anything that hinders prayer and restoring a clean heart before God.
Key Scriptures: Psalm 51 · 1 John 1:9 · James 4:8–10 · Isaiah 59:1–2
Prayer Points:
- Confess personal sins (known and unknown) specifically and thoroughly.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to search your heart and reveal hidden attitudes, bitterness, pride, or compromise.
- Repent of any ways you have hindered your own prayers or the prayers of others.
- Pray for a fresh hatred of sin and a deeper love for holiness.
- Ask God to cleanse and restore joy in your relationship with Him.
Reflection: “Is there any unconfessed sin or unresolved offense that could be blocking my prayers?”
Day 2 – Seeking God’s Presence
Focus: Desiring God Himself more than His gifts or answers.
Key Scriptures: Psalm 27:4, 8 · Psalm 42:1–2 · Matthew 6:33 · Exodus 33:15–16
Prayer Points:

- Pray that distraction, busyness, and lesser loves would lose their grip.
- Invite the Holy Spirit to fill and lead you throughout the day.

Reflection: “Am I seeking God’s hand more than His face?”
Day 3 – Family & Relationships
Focus: Strengthening marriages, parenting, and key relationships in love and honor.
Key Scriptures: Ephesians 5:22–33 · Ephesians 6:1–4 · 1 Peter 3:7 · Colossians 3:12–14

- Intercede for your children or future children — salvation, protection, and growth in Christ.
- Pray for parents, siblings, and extended family.
- Ask God to heal strained or broken relationships.
- Pray that your home would be a place of peace, truth, and hospitality.

Focus: Those in positions of spiritual, governmental, and everyday authority.
Key Scriptures: 1 Timothy 2:1–4 · Romans 13:1–2 · Hebrews 13:17 · Proverbs 21:1
Prayer Points:
- Pray for your pastors, elders, and church leaders — wisdom, protection, purity, endurance, and anointing.
- Intercede for national, state, and local government leaders — that they would govern with justice and wisdom.
- Pray for employers, supervisors, teachers, and others in authority over you.
- Ask God to raise up godly leaders and remove corrupt influence where needed.
- Pray that those in authority would encounter the truth of the gospel.
- Ask for a spirit of honor and intercession (rather than criticism) in your own heart toward leaders.
Reflection: “Am I more quick to criticize leaders or to pray for them?”
Day 7 – Thanksgiving & Commitment
