How Do I Accept Jesus?
Jesus Loves You and has Always Wanted You!
Romans 3:23 All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
This means that there is not one person who is perfect, not me, not you, nobody. We have all fallen short of God’s glory. God’s glory refers to His image, nature and character. Humankind was originally made in the image of God, but when Adam and Eve sinned, they lost God’s image for themselves and for all of us.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Not only have we lost the image of God, we have also been separated from God because of our sin. Sin causes us to die spiritually. Sin is the cause of everything that is evil in the world and in our own personal lives. Every time we sin we are planting seeds of death, decay and destruction. It is because of our sin that we have been separated from God and need His forgiveness.
Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
All sin is committed against God. The only way to pay the price for our great treason against God is to die. But, God in His goodness decided to come to us in the form of a man, Jesus Christ, and die for us in our place. That is what the cross is all about. God loved us so much that He gave us His Son Jesus to die in our place. Now that’s love!
Romans 10:13 Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
It really is that simple! Just ask God to forgive you and He will. In fact, He wants to forgive you. More than anything else, God wants to love you and help you. His purpose for dying on the cross was to gain you and your love.
Romans 10:9 If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
To confess means to tell other people what Jesus has done for you. Tell them how He loved you and forgave you and lifted the heavy weight of sin off of you. To confess also means that you will now live for God instead of for self-centered desires. In other words, your actions will tell others that God loves them too.
Romans 8:1-2 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.
Now that you have accepted Christ, you are no longer condemned for your sin. There is no longer any condemnation! Christ set us free from sin so we can live our life doing what is good and right. Life is not about being sad and miserable. It’s about living with a smile on your face and being a blessing to everyone you come into contact with. Praise God, you have now been made a blessing to others!
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
Even as a Christian you will make mistakes. You will do and say things you shouldn’t. No worries. Anytime you mess up, you simply stop, confess your sin, ask Jesus to forgive you, and He will. It’s that simple.
The best way to keep from messing up is to focus on what God wants you to do, rather than always thinking about what you’re not suppose to do. Focus on loving God, loving other people, being patient and kind, being a blessing, and being the kind of person other people want to be around.
Seem impossible? It is without God’s help. But that’s the “Good News!” Just ask Jesus to help you live the way you should everyday and He will. He wants you to succeed in being a blessing to others and He will help you to do that. Always start your day by asking Jesus to help you. You will be amazed at what He will do through you.
You are the One God Loves!
