Who We Are In Christ
We walk by faith, not by sight or emotions or circumstances. God alone is our Creator and He alone has the right to define who we are. Below are a few passages that I quote each day to remind me who I am in Christ.
Romans 4:7 Blessed are they whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.
I am blessed! I am forgiven! I am happy because I am forgiven!
Deuteronomy 32:10b He shielded him and cared for him; he guarded him as the apple of his eye.
I am the apple of God’s eye!
Psalm 1:3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.
I am prosperous! I will not whither! I will bear fruit for my God!
Psalm 32:8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.
I am instructed & counseled by my God! I am receiving His wisdom!
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
My God has plans for me! My God will never harm me!
I have hope! I am secure in my future with Christ!
Habakkuk 3:19a The Sovereign LORD is my strength; He makes my feet like the feet of a deer, He enables me to go on the heights.
I am enabled by my God! I am walking securely on high ground!
Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
I am being made pure! I have the ability to see my God!
Luke 21:15 For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.
I am filled with God’s wisdom! I can stand against my adversaries!
Romans 6:14 For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace.
I am free from the power of sin! I have God’s grace!
Romans 8:15 For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”
I have not been given spirit of fear! I am no longer a slave to fear!
I am God’s beloved child & He is my Father!
Romans 8:37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
I am more than a conqueror! I am loved by my God!
1 Corinthians 10:13 And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.
I am able to withstand temptation! I am able to escape temptation!
My God provides a way for me!
2 Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
I have the Spirit of the Lord in me! I am walking in spiritual freedom!
Ephesians 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.
I am blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ!
Philippians 1:6 He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
I am being completed! I am becoming more like Christ!
Philippians 4:13 I can do everything through him who gives me strength.
I am able! I can do all things in Christ!
I am strengthened by my God!
Philippians 4:19 My God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
All of my needs are met – every day – every time!
Hebrews 13:6 So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”
I am confident! I am fearless! I will not be afraid!
James 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
I am submitted to my God!
I am resisting Satan & he is fleeing from me!
2 Peter 1:3 His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.
I am empowered by my God to live & be holy!
1 John 4:4 Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.
I am victorious! I have Christ, the living & resurrected Lord in me!
Revelation 19:7 Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.
I am God’s beloved & He is mine!
I am ready to wed my God!
